It is the top-selling album in the Byrds catalogue, reaching #6 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart in 1967 and certified a platinum-seller on November 21, 1986. In 2003, the album was ranked number 178 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
