German rock band from Nuremberg, Germany, considered as first Rock group singing in German language.
It is attributed to Krautrock, their music contained elements of Classic Rock, Folk and Jazz Rock.
The band was founded under that name in 1969, but emerged from the group Jonah & The Whales, which was founded in 1964 in Nuremberg. In 1968, frontman Sonny Hennig co-founded a band called "Empire State Band", which was renamed to "Ihre Kinder" a year later.
Their first album was recorded in 1969, the main success came with their second album Leere Hände in 1970. The same year, the band had an appearance at Germany's popular TV show "Wünsch Dir Was", which became a scandal, as the conservative audience still was not ready for a group of hippies.
They were also requested for a collaboration with Klaus Kinski, that, however, did not happen.
After two more albums, that did not yield success, the band split in October 1971. In 1972, an additional album was released by a part of the line-up.
