MAX WOISKI JR. - Woiski A Go Go (CNR ZZ 1613) Holland 60s LP (Kaseko)
| vinyl: NM (mint-) | cover: NM (mint-)
Singer and guitarist of Surinam origin (Paramaribo, May 13, 1930 - Alkmaar, March 23, 2011). Son of Max Woiski Sr.. Woiski jr. and his orchestra mostly performed at his own club La Tropicana in Amsterdam's Leidsedwarsstraat. In his orchestra you had Surinam musicians such as Raul Burnett (congas), Steve Boston (timbales), Johan 'Groentjie' Grunberg (percussion) and Dutch musicians such as Jan Jacobs (bass) and Ronald Langestraaten (piano). They mainly performed Latin-American music - a completely different rhythm from earlier hits such as "Rijst met kouseband" or "Je bent nog niet gelukkig met een mooie vrouw". Around 1970 they were getting a lot of radio airtime but around that time a conflict arose that led to Boston, Burnett, Grunberg and Jacobs leaving the band and forming Ritmo Natural.
