Peter Sjardin was the keyboard player with the Dutch psychedelic band Group 1850. He developed the "organiser" - a modified organ with added effects and gadgetry. His first works of "organiser" music featured on "Paradise Now" and the two Group 1850 live albums. He also recorded in 1969 a solo album with his organiser, called "Changes" that album was at last properly released in 2017. Round 1975 he renamed Group 1850 to Orange Upstairs. They recorded a hard to find album "First Experience", Peter Sjardin (vocals, organ), Martin van Duynhoven (drums), Dave Duba (guitar), Hans Dulfer (saxophone) en Ed Neumeister (bass). Hereafter he put his efforts into a new-wave satire type project called Sjardins Terrible Surprise (only album called Live1).
His life was troubled by use of substances and probably ADHD.
After Terrible Surprise he disappeared from public life and died on 16th of may 2015 at 68 after his first re-appearance at the ARC 2014 Record fair in Utrecht.
