The 180 grams came out first through Mike Hobson and Classic. Then a few
years later they used the same metal parts to press 200 Gram versions atClassic. The reason they didn’t put 180 gram stickers on the first run is
because the 200 gram versions were the second presses done after the
initial run sold so well. I don’t think initially they were planning on 200
gram versions.
Chad Kassem purchased all of the Classic metal parts and he has all of the
details but there were definitely 180 Gram and 200 Gram versions of the
Zeps, but only the 200 Gram versions have stickers saying 200 Grams. There
were also 150 Gram and 140 Gram versions of The Who Classic records
reissues and those have the weight on the sticker.
I am confident that what I have is 180 Grams because the Zep Classic
reissues were only done as 180 and 200 and the 200 Grams have the weight on
