Side A tracks are studio demos, engineered on Graveyard Studios 4 track, Prestwich; September 15/16, 1979.
Side B tracks are from concert at The Electric Ballroom, London, 26th October 1979, opening for Joy Division.

Released in February 1980, it contains 14 tracks: 7 demo songs from a session recorded at Graveyard Studios in September 1979 (side A) and 7 songs from a gig at the Electric Ballroom on 26th October 1979 (side B), together with Joy Division and The Distractions.

British post punk & indie funk band formed in 1977 near Manchester. A Certain Ratio took their name from the lyrics of Brian Eno's song The True Wheel (from his album Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) (1974). Their first records were released on Factory. Over the years there have been changes in line-up and periods of inactivity.
